Notes from the Saint

“For me, this set represents the old and new, history and future, death and birth, beauty and destruction.

By covering the eyes, an energy is withheld in the subject that allows the viewer to form a new perspective on what is an old story – Medusa, the snake headed charmer and destructor. Perhaps, with her eyes now sealed from us, she is the bringer of warmth, life, energy, sun.

Or perhaps she is still a bad b*tch who will f**k you up if she catches you looking elsewhere. And maybe that’s how it should be?”

‘My Medusa’ is taken from the original Antonio Canova ‘Head of Medusa (1806-07)’ currently on display in the MET on Fifth Avenue, New York.
